Mia joined the Football Foundation as a Project Coordinator in August 2024 and will continue in this role for a 12-month internship.
She comes to us from Loughborough University in the UK, where she is studying a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Mia has a keen interest in exploring the psychological dimensions of sport, particularly in understanding the mental support athletes need to overcome perceived obstacles.
Having developed a passion for sport from a young age, Mia has primarily engaged in team sports such as tennis, netball, and hockey. Her enthusiasm for hockey led her to represent Loughborough University, further solidifying her commitment to the sport.
Through this internship, Mia aims to gain valuable insights into the internal operations of the New Zealand Football Foundation, which will assist her in shaping her future career path and objectives.
Over the next 12 months, Mia will focus on several key initiatives, including grant applications, digitization projects, content development, the creation of grant success stories, and providing support for events organized by New Zealand Football.
Every team needs supporters. At the New Zealand Football Foundation we are so grateful for our partners who believe in Football For Good just as much as we do. They know the power of sport to make real change in society and they are committed to helping us do the māhi to support our communities. The generosity of our partners is crucial to enable us to support so many worthy projects.
