Chairman, Mark Stewart says the Foundation is committed to taking a long-term view of the game. “The success that The All Whites enjoyed at the World Cup was hard-won and it’s important that we don’t waste the opportunities it’s produced – financially and in terms of profile.”
The $4 million that Football New Zealand received for that success will be built-on by the Foundation through prudent investment and encouraging donors to augment that amount.
All Whites players have found doors opening for them since the World Cup and the Foundation aims to create the same opportunities for players of the future. “This is our opportunity to ensure that more New Zealand players take the world stage.”
Every team needs supporters. At the New Zealand Football Foundation we are so grateful for our partners who believe in Football For Good just as much as we do. They know the power of sport to make real change in society and they are committed to helping us do the māhi to support our communities. The generosity of our partners is crucial to enable us to support so many worthy projects.
